Re: Completion Solidarity

Congrats on finishing, Dan!

JR, looks like you're chugging along!

I just sent the interim novella off for a final proofreading, and tomorrow I'm going to get back to the NaNo novel.

Re: Completion Solidarity

Still working on editing the other novella, but I did take a break and add 782 words to the NaNo novel for a current total of 51,603. I'll take it.

Re: Completion Solidarity

I'm taking a quick detour to edit another project, but I'm hoping to get back to my NaNo project at the end of the week. After that I think I should be able to finish in another week or so.

Re: Daily check-in thread?

Day 29: 2140 today, which brings my total to 50,821. Woohoo! I still think this barf draft is going to top out at 60k, so the first editing pass is going to consist of filling in a lot of holes and imposing improved structure on the mess. Still... this is 50k more than I had at the beginning of the ...

Re: Daily check-in thread?

Day 28: 1851 today for a total of 48,681.

The story is moving along quite well at the moment. I think the first pass is going to finish at around 60k (not in November, but in December), which is about 10k shorter than intended -- there are a lot of things that need more space.

Re: Nano Questions?

I don't have any more specific questions, but I did want to say thanks for answering the ones I posted and also just for the daily podcast in general. I incorporated listening to it into my daily routine and it has helped me stay motivated during NaNo.

Re: Daily check-in thread?

Moving right along...

Day 27: 1735 today, for a total of 46,830.

I was planning to take the dogs for a long walk today in the sunshine, but I took a nap instead. Oops. So now we are going to go for a walk while I listen to today's podcast.

Re: Daily check-in thread?

I know some people regularly manage 9-10k per day, and I'm in awe of those who can do it. Day 26: 1236 today, for a total of 45,095. My plan today was to cook a bunch of stuff, eat, clean up the kitchen, and then write. For the record, this was a terrible plan. All I've wanted to do since I ate far ...

Re: Daily check-in thread?

Excellent job on the words AND the 5,000 steps, JR!

Day 25: 1771 today, for a total of 43,859. And now the dogs would really like me to know that it is time to go for a walk.

Re: Nano Questions?

I like JR's question above about self-editing. If you run out of other topics, I was intrigued by what Gail was saying about her Scrivener flagging process. I have one book published so far and I *know* there are things I could be doing to make the whole process easier. So... what are some things yo...
