I usually get up in the morning and write for an hour on the treadmill (veeery slowly, with a 4.5% incline), but this morning I slept in, and whew... facing the entire 1667 after eight hours at the day job is a lot less fun.

Day 17: 1685 for the day, 30,071 total.

I've hit my NaNo goal every year, but I've never managed to write a full novel during November. My books tend to land between 70 and 80k, which isn't all that long, but that's not an amount I can do in one month. My hat is off to anyone who can make it all the way to the end!

11/15 and 11/6 0 words each day

11/17 4416

7734 off pace

Not giving up, but at this point 45k will be a win (on a personal level at least!)

MY WIP is looking to be approx 150-170k

If I finish the angels will sing, politicians will become honest and the 49ers will win the superbowl

11/18 Check-In

I managed 1,000 words today, so I'm on an upward trajectory but nowhere near where I need to be. I did all of this while navigating a tricky fatherhood emergency, so a win I guess. Tomorrow will be better, it has to be!

Day 18: 1808 today, for a total of 31,879.

I almost figured out a way to sneak "I can feel it in my waters" into my SF manuscript, but couldn't quite pull it off. (It's a phrase that shows up in an Australian murder mystery series about crime scene cleaners -- every time she makes highly questionable deductions, she says "I can feel it in my waters" and every time, it's just that much funnier.)
