Lectures and Seminars
I’m available to give the following lectures:
- Audiobook Production Basics
Based upon my book Making Tracks: A Writer’s Guide to Audiobooks (And How To Produce Them), the Audiobook Production Basics seminar gives an overview of the marketplace, business, and craft of independent audiobook production.
- Firearms Basics for Writers
Based upon my book Throwing Lead: A Writer’s Guide to Firearms (And The People Who Use Them), the Firearms Basics lecture goes through the history and taxonomy of firearms and the effective use of Firearms in fiction.
- Is The Future Worth Living For?
Springing from research I did for And Then She Was Gone, Is The Future Really Worth Living For? charts the trajectory of technology, human progress from 10,000 BC, and explores the environmental and moral challenges they create. Designed for a high school audience, this forty-five minute presentation shows the opportunities available in growing fields to young people educated in science, technology, and engineering.
Other talks are in development. Fees are negotiable, and will vary depending upon travel, availability, and other factors.
I’m available for one-on-one and/or small group training and tutoring in the following areas:

I do commissioned book, film, hardware, automotive, audio production, and software reviews on my blog, as well as in other publications. I also occasionally will review work or tech that catches my fancy. If you are interested in having me review your work or product, please email me. If you are a new author, developer, or independent filmmaker who has not dealt extensively with reviewers before, please see my review policy.
