Re: Completion Solidarity

I got myself up to pg 100 out of a 475mss pages on the continuity and proof pass of Book 3 of the big series. If I can keep up the current pace I should be into virgin territory by March, which means finishing the second half of book 4, then writing book 5 and 6.

Re: Completion Solidarity

You guys are kicking ass :-)

I've hit a point in my revise of the third Joss Kyle book where I've realized I have to do a major reorganization. Sigh. So, today is that day. Upside: it should allow me to cut some words, which is good because the book is 250k words long.

Re: Completion Solidarity

Excellent work! I'm slowly trudging my way through a continuity pass on The Hartman Gambit (what once was podcast as Free Will before the series got refactored). I'm now over the 10% mark. I've managed to cut about 4000 words so far, but I'm hoping I'll find GOBS of more redundant information later ...

Re: Completion Solidarity

Go Ed Go! And welcome to the party :-) I just wrapped up Lantham 9, clocking in at ~90k words I left it at ~60k, so that's 30k since the end of NaNo (more than that, actually. I wound up having to cut several chapters and backtrack. Such is the mystery life). About to go dive into red-lining on the ...

Re: noms de plume

I dig JF Erikson. Would be v. good for mystery, could also work for SF. Paul Allman (and variations) are less mentally sticky for me, and less punchy. FWIW. I'm digging deep into the art of metadata and getting the queasy feeling that I might need to do a pen name (or at least a variation on my norm...

Re: Completion Solidarity

Go JR! I hit a hard brick wall with the mystery I'm completing a few days ago. Finally realized two nights back that I had completely screwed up the information flow about 20k words earlier, so I did scene cards, shuffled them, then cycled back and started moving forward again. Still have a chance t...

Re: Completion Solidarity

Thank you!
Also, congrats on the novella and on diving back into the NaNo project.
I'm up 3k tonight on the mystery novel I'm trying to finish by month's end. Got a chance of making it. Here's hoping. Dying to start the new year with a clear field.
